What we do
Our Foundation promotes and provides sustainable literacy and skills development, which hinges on the fact that children should be helped to fully develop their personalities, skills, talents, and capabilities. They should be informed of their rights and responsibilities towards themselves and others as well as in protecting the environment. Under the project dubbed “Literacy for Life”, we promote reading, writing and STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) education.
Basic research also reveals that children (basic level) just like everyone else have eye conditions, and if not detected and treated or managed can affect their learning capabilities. The Foundation under one of its flagship projects dubbed “Sight for Learning” carries out screening activities to detect these defects and diseases, and finds the possible best treatments for them.
We also provide a sustainable platform for volunteerism. We seek to promote and empower volunteers including children to be involved in making the world a better place to live in.

Symbol of Hope International (SOHi) is a Non-Governmental Organization which is duly registered and certified according to the laws of Ghana. SOHi focuses on advocacy and development.

 

Symbol of Hope International primarily seeks to contribute to learning and development, as well as providing preventive healthcare opportunities to children in deprived communities. We understand that every child has the right to equal educational opportunities and therefore, no child shall be deprived or denied of them.
